Tutors Required for the AWC
Tugtar cuireadh duit iarratas a dhéanamh ar phost mar theagascóir scríbhneoireachta le Gaeilge ag an Ionad Scríbhneoireachta Acadúla i Leabharlann Uí Argadáin.
The AWC is looking for new tutors to join our team in 2021-22. Please note, you must be a current student at NUIG to apply for this position. Currently we are looking for tutors with Irish as well as tutors with English.
Cuireann an tIonad Scríbhneoireachta Acadúla tacaíocht sa scríbhneoireacht ar fáil do mhic léinn OÉ Gaillimh, déantar cuir i láthair ar an scríbhnoireacht acadúil, agus eagraítear roinnt tograí taighde agus pobail. Cuirfidh teagascóirí seisiúin aonair ar fáil ar líne do mhic léinn fochéime, chomh maith le tacaíocht aisioncronach leis an scríbhneoireacht, agus tacóidh siad freisin le forbairt an Ionaid Scríbhneoireachta Acadúla trí ábhar a dhearadh, ábhar a aistriú agus ceardlanna a reáchtáil. Íocfar an táille chaighdéanach le haghaidh ranganna teagaisc leo.

a) Sampla 400-500 focal de do chuid scríbhneoireachta acadúla i nGaeilge.
b) Sampla 400-500 focal de do chuid scríbhneoireachta acadúla i mBéarla.

d) Litir chlúdaigh (i mBéarla / dhátheangach) a mhíníonn an spéis atá agat sa phost agus an méid a gcuirfidh tú leis an ról i bhfianaise do chuid taithí oibre, aidhmeanna gairme agus eolais ar obair an Ionaid Scríbhneoireachta Acadúla.
Reáchtálfar agallaimh ar líne i mí Mheán Fomhair agus Deireadh Fómhair.

The AWC provides writing support to NUIG students, facilitates presentations on academic writing, and runs a number of research and community projects. Tutors will conduct online one-on-one sessions for undergraduate students, provide asynchronous support with writing, and contribute to the development of the AWC through designing materials, modifying existing materials, running workshops, and taking part in new projects.
Successful applicants will work for 3-5 hours a week; they will be paid at the standard tutorial rate .

a) An academic writing sample (400-500 words) in Irish (if applying for the position of tutor with Irish)
b) An academic writing sample (400-500 words) in English

c) A cover letter in English outlining your interest in the position, your current studies at NUIG, and your proposed contribution to the role in the light of your past work experience, career objectives, and knowledge of the work of the AWC and writing centre work in general.
Interviews will be held online in September and early October.
Please note that successful applicants will have to undergo garda vetting. Students from non-EU countries, please not that you will need to have your right to work authorised by the immigration office before starting to work at the AWC; you will also need to receive a PPS number from the Revenue before first payment can be issued.
