Library catalogue now available in the Irish Language
NUI
Galway Library is proud to announce that our catalogue is now available online
in the Irish-language. The catalogue in Irish can now be accessed via library.nuigalway.ie/anleabharlann. This is currently the only
Irish-language online catalogue available at a third-level institution in the
world. The project is a demonstration of the Library's commitment to NUI Galway
as a bilingual university with a special role in the strengthening of Irish as
a vital component of the Irish nation, culture, and society.

The NUI
Galway Library Irish-language catalogue is the result of a partnership between
the Library, our discovery system vendor ExLibris, and an tSeirbhís Aistriúcháin at NUI Galway.
Implementation of the new Irish-language catalogue interface was conducted in
conjunction with the development of an Irish language homepage for the Library
website. The result is an integrated and authentic library search experience
that can be conducted in the Irish language.
While we have strived for the most complete Irish-language experience possible, we acknowledge that there are still elements here and there that may have been missed and are still in English only. If you encounter any such gaps, we welcome your feedback. Get in touch at library@nuigalway.ie.
Staff and students of NUI Galway are welcome to have a look at the following video to see how to access the Irish-language catalogue upon signing in to your Library account.
