Günter Grass

Günter Grass German novelist, poet, playwright was born in Danzig on 16th October 1927 and died on 13th April 2015 in Lubeck, Germany (aged 87).  Grass is best known for his first novel  Die Blechtrommel (The Tin Drum)  published in 1959.
He won the Nobel prize for literature in 1999.
