Travel bugs

With holiday time fast approaching, let Special Collections inspire a trip with a difference in 2015. On display as part of our historical travel writing exhibition during the month of April will be well-known names from the Grand Tour and great explorations, along with some lesser known intrepid travellers.

An unfamiliar depiction of Sydney perhaps, from: George Barrington's An account of a voyage to New South Wales (London : M. Jones and Sherwood, Neely & Jones, 1810)

If you would like to view the spotlight exhibition, or to consult material in this vein, please contact the staff of the Special Collections Reading Room in the Hardiman Research Building at

The spotlight exhibition can also be viewed on the digital display wall in the Hardiman Foyer during the month of April.
