The rule for abbreviations in British spelling is that if the abbreviation begins and ends with the same letters, a full stop IS NOT used. The full stop is a convention of American spelling. So on your homepage your RIP notice for Garret FitzGerald should read Dr Garret FitzGerald (no full stop).

In Trinity, access to the library is via swipe card - No card, no entry.

While I am commenting on the library, I feel that the library in Galway is not conducive for good study.

1. Students using their laptops, on Facebook, viewing YouTube clips, listening to music, at a high level.

2. Listening to their iPods, at a high level.

3. Taking/Making phone call, distracting others in so doing.

4. Consumption of food in library, especially in PC suites!

5. Students in group study rooms being heard outside same.

6. Students treating PC suites in library (especially in Nursing & Midwifery block) as group study rooms...When you ask them to be quiet, then look at you as if you are wrong?!

7. In the Nursing block, an alarm goes off every day, frightening the life out of all present.

8. E10 photocopy card machine doesnt work

9. First floor is warm/stuffy. Second floor much cooler. Why?

10. Are all those students using the postgrad reading rooms, postgrads?
