Photocopiers out of order
Tuesday evening 31st January 2012: All photocopying machines are down in the library this evening and we are unable to offer printing or copying services until further notice. This has been logged with ISS and Patrons may use the photocopying machine in the library browsing room and cards may be purchased for €3.00 near the door into the Librarian's office on the ground floor: please ask the desk service for further details.

Assistive Technology- Exhibition and Demos
On Wednesday 8th Feb there will be an interactive event highlighting technologies to enhance student independence.

This event is designed to raise awareness of the various types of Assistive Technology used to support students in education. The event will be of particular interest to students with disabilities, their families, teachers, special needs assistants, and supporting professionals.

National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) database now available via the JHL
The library has a new subscription to The National Standards
Authority of Ireland (NSAI) database. The database provides full text access to
Irish and International (ISO) standards. It can be accessed via a title search of the library catalogue or
through a search of databases
by title on the library homepage. If you are off-campus you must be logged in
to the library to access full-text of standards. Please
contact Fiona Quinlan the subject
librarian for the College of Engineering and Informatics if you have any
queries about accessing or using this database.

The Academic Writing Centre has just re-openedAll students are very welcome. Last term, over two hundred students availed of the free sessions on essay writing.
