The Library is excited to announce a new workshop series, Digital Tools for Research , running from October to May this academic year.  Led by our Library team and guest experts from the Data Science Institute, these workshops aim to support researchers by offering training on a range of digital tools and methods to boost their projects.  All workshops will be held in a hybrid format, offering 20 spots for in-person and 30 for online participation. To attend in person, participants must have a valid student or staff ID to access the Library. If demand increases, we can expand the number of online seats available. As part of the committed development of our EDI collections, the Library has purchased access to the Primary Source Collection: LGBTQ History and Culture Since 1940, Part I. This digitised collection brings together approximately 1.5 million pages of primary sources on social, political, health, and legal issues impacting LGBTQ communities around the world.  The collection features historical documents published in more than 35 countries, with over 15 languages represented.  It contains rare and unique content from newsletters, papers, government documents, manuscripts, pamphlets shedding light on the gay rights movement, activism, the HIV/AIDS crisis, and more.   The Library recently purchased access to Counselling and Therapy in Video - Volumes III, IV and V so we now have access to all five volumes of Counselling and Therapy in Video which contains 2,485 videos. This collection provides users with a first-hand look at the realities of working with clients and the challenges associated with putting theoretical concepts into practice. It provides a thorough grounding in dozens of therapeutic methods and diagnoses, insight into the human condition, and training in skills such as reflection and empathy while working with specific populations such as veterans and teens.   The Library has recently purchased updated access to the  Wiley Enyclopedia of Life Sciences (eLS). The Library has purchased perpetual access to National Theatre Collection Vol. II . This collection builds upon National Theatre Collection Vol. I with an additional 20 high-quality video productions featuring fresh takes on the classics, compelling performances, and offering students equitable online access to the highest-quality theatre productions available. The Library has recently purchased access to the Oxford Research Encyclopedia (ORE) of African History .  This new resource is a comprehensive, online research encyclopedia that provides high quality and peer reviewed scholarship about African History. This authoritative and accessible reference tool is a significant addition to the Library's collections in this area and will be of interest to many subjects and disciplines. The encyclopedia covers the entire range of African history and development, from Stone Age Archaeology in West Africa to the consideration of Post-Apartheid Memorialisation in South Africa . Currently there are over 700 articles on this continually updated resource. The Library is marking Mental Health Week / Seachtain na Meabhairshláinte with a display of mental health and wellbeing books in the Library Foyer. We have supported the Student Counselling & Wellbeing Service in developing a reading list -  Health and Wellbeing recommended reading audio/video resources  - which forms part of this display of titles from the Mind, Body Soul Collection.  The Student Counselling & Wellbeing Service also has a comprehensive resource section on their new webpage:  Resources - University of Galway .
