Radical Newspaper Archive - New Library Subscription

Image
The Library has taken out a subscription to the Radical Newspaper Archives, a collection of over 115 Irish radical and political newspapers, journals, pamphlets and bulletins.  This major historical resource spans the Home Rule debates of the 1880s to the beginning of the Second World War, including the 1913 Lockout, the 1916 Rising, the War of Independence, the Civil War and the Economic War of the 1930s.  Many of these newspapers are unavailable elsewhere, and this is the first time that they have been made available in one place.  The resource in particular, provides fascinating insight into the revolutionary period following 1916, a time when there was a major clampdown on radical newspapers by the Military Authority.  Some of the titles include:  An Claidheamh Soluis (1899-1918)  An Sao Ä¡ al Gaedeala Ä‹  (suppressed by Military Authority in 1917)  The Blueshirt (1933-35)  Notes from Ireland (1886-1918) The Irish Hammer and Plough (1926)  Sinn Féin Daily (1909-10)  The Harp (Irish

E-Resources Access for St Angela's Students

Image
Students in St Angela's should now be able to login to most third party e-resources normally by accessing them via the  Library Catalogue  using your NUI, Galway Office 365 login details and not your St Angela's account details.  Information Solutions & Services  in NUI, Galway created brand new accounts for all St Angela's students due to the cyber attack for accessing NUI, Galway resources and this is the account that should be used. There is no longer any need to use the blackboard login workaround so it has been removed.  There may be some issues with resources hosted by NUI' Galway as these may take longer before they are available. You may also encounter the following message while accessing any resource that requires the new university IDP: If you encounter this page, clearing your browser cache can resolve the issue. For instructions on how to do this please click  here . If you are having difficulties accessing a particular electronic resource please emai
