What is the MakerSpace? The MakerSpace, opened in 2016, is a collaborative Library space offering modern tools and student volunteer support for university-wide exploration and creation, accessible to all regardless of discipline or experience. MakerSpace volunteers share their projects with visitors from Denmark How We Support Students, Lecturers and Researchers Students: Students can use the MakerSpace for any aspect of their coursework from video assignments to 3D printing.  Lecturers: MakerSpace workshops can be included as guest lectures in modules.   The Gale Primary Sources Roadshow will be visiting on Thursday 6th March from 09:30 - 13:00 in Hardiman Research Building Foyer - just at the big screen. Experts from Gale publishing will be available to provide one-to-one content advice and assistance for any of Gale's primary source collections that the Library subscribes to. Students, researchers and academic staff are welcome to drop by anytime. The roadshow is a great chance to have an informal chat with product experts who can show you the best way to find primary sources for your essays, projects and dissertations as well as learn how to use the powerful search tools to get the best results.   The Academic Writing Centre (AWC) provides one-on-one tutorials on essay writing. These are free and available to everyone, regardless of experience or grade average.  Postgraduate students are very welcome as are undergraduate students.  Students who need help with essays in Irish, can come during the following times: Monday: 5pm - 7pm Tuesday 11am -1pm  Wednesday: 5pm - 7pm Saturday: 11am - 1pm What to expect from a session at the AWC? You will work one-on-one with one of the AWC tutors, who are all postgraduate students at the University of Galway. The session will last approximately 45 minutes. Together with the tutor, you will look at your recent work, which can be a current draft or a past assignment. You will discuss your ideas and the best way to express put them into words.
