SFX Service Interruption

** We are working to have the SFX service back up and running later this afternoon. Thanks again for your patience while we undertake this necessary maintenance ** [Tuesday 12:30]

** We are still working to restore the service as soon as we can. We're sorry for the incovenience and appreciate your patience ** [Monday, 14:00]

To facilitate internal network reorganisation, the IP address of the server sfx.library.nuigalway.ie is changing to 140.203.15.50. This change will take up to 24 hours as
DNS records do not propagate throughout the network immediately, but require all caches to expire and refresh. In the meantime If you experience any difficulty accessing sfx.library.nuigalway.ie simply use the IP address. For example replace:

http://sfx.library.nuigalway.ie/sfx_test/az/

with

http://140.203.15.50/sfx_test/az/

We apologise for any inconvenience.

I had the same problem Friday and it's not fixed today. Can't get any e-journals at all through the library e-Knowledge website. If I go to Scopus i'm told I have full access but the download only gets the abstract...very slowly.
OSA http://www.opticsinfobase.org/
site is working fine for physics/optics but that's a limited
number of titles.

And now its the 28th... and still no access!
Hi 'Anonymous', access to SFX was restored yesterday afternoon.

It sounds like your browser has cached the page. Press Ctrl+F5 on the Find E-Journal page to reset it.

If you're still having problems, call 495067 and we'll see what we can do.
Thanks,Ronán

To bypass the SFX problem I went through e-resources to Informaworld to look up a specfic journal, as recommended. When I got to the journal I had to purchase the article to read it. Did not accept my NUIG ID and password.

OK, so I've opened the e-journal page from the e-knowledge page, clicked on ctrl and f5 (as hardiblog has recommended) and the page has refreshed (Just to be sure, I deleted all my browsing history - deleting all old cookies, passwords etc in so doing - before I opened the e-knowledge portal). I entered my journal search (Science and Engineering Ethics). The usual page came up and I clicked on EBSCOhost Academic Search Premier (IReL) link to which I got the following:
Software error:
IOL::Base::_execute_single_update: Cannot execute INSERT INTO
SFX_REQUEST (SERIALIZED,MODIFIED)
VALUES (?,NOW())
The table 'SFX_REQUEST' is full
Parameters: 1234 ContextObject::Engine

Any ideas?

The following has worked though:
I've clicked on an old bookmark I've had for the old OPAC system [ http://opac.nuigalway.ie/F/CQRYN8CDQVBR3UL8AH77VI691T3MC3PTHXB25EPF9KPXVLCNTQ-11860?&pds_handle=GUEST] and searched for my journal there using hte journal title option in the 'search for' box. Clicked on the search result and it has brought me straight through to the EBSCOhost Academic Search Premier page hosting the journal. I can access the articles I want from there. Doing this for each journal may be an option? I'm not sure, I'm not computer illiterate, but I'm no expert!
